Big Issue Foundation

How can you support Big Issue vendors while you shop this Christmas?

Amazon Smile

Probably the most well-known of our list, Amazon Smile allows you to donate to the Foundation as you shop on Amazon. It’s exactly the same as your usual Amazon experience, except Amazon add a 0.5% donation on the value of every order and send that to us. It’s just as simple and easy as a usual Amazon purchase and it’s a totally free method of fundraising. Go to Amazon Smile [link] and choose The Big Issue Foundation as your charity to get started, then keep using Smile every time you shop, not just for Christmas but year-round!

Don’t Send Me a Card

Still not sorted out cards for some of your friends and family? This is the perfect opportunity to send holiday wishes to everyone on your list while making a donation to support Big Issue vendors through the colder months. Go to Don’t Send Me a Card, choose your greetings card design and donation amount, and send it to the recipient instantly! Then repeat for everyone you want to send Christmas cheer to. Great for those hard to buy for people.

Kindred

This is a new way to donate you may not have heard of before. Kindred is an app and browser extension, so you can add it to your mobile or desktop browser. As you shop, Kindred generates cashback as a percentage on each purchase – then donates 100% of this to The Big Issue Foundation, at no cost to you. The average cashback is 6% of your shopping total, but this varies depending on the retailer. Start using it across all your devices this December and beyond, and see how much you can raise.

The Knitting Network

You may have seen this already on our social media channels – The Big Issue Foundation is the December charity of the month for The Knitting Network. During December, you can round up your orders on their website to the nearest £1 at the checkout, with all money raised being donated to us. The Knitting Network will also be matching all donations, doubling the impact of your support.

Amy Last from The Knitting Network said, “Each month we support a new charity through checkout donations. Our amazing customers top up their orders to the nearest £ in their thousands, and at the end of the month we match the total to double the amount raised. The Big Issue Foundation exists to help vendors rebuild their lives and navigate their path to a better future, and that’s a cause we’re really proud to be supporting.”
