The BIG Red Party – An evening of RED to be remembered

On Friday the 8th November The Big Issue Foundation hosted The BIG Red Party in support of our fabulous vendors. The theme of red spanned across lighting, drinks, food, sweet treats and even the entertainment was red. The highlight was the extraordinary efforts by the wonderful guests who showed up wearing everything from red ties, socks, frocks and there was even a full on red suit!

The event aimed to celebrate our hardworking vendors on the streets and raise much needed funds to support the work of The Big Issue Foundation. Amazing street dancers kick-started the party with a spectacular performance. Two world-renowned street artists joined us on the night and donated a piece of their work to a small auction orchestrated by the marvellous Josh Spero, who with humour and true auctioneering talent secured a record breaking £5,500 for a print by Stik and £1,600 for a beautiful piece by John Dolan.

“Thank you for a wonderful evening. You guys sure know how to throw a party.”

The amazing Joel Hodgson shared his powerful story from the streets to working in a law firm and now also competing in next year’s Commonwealth Games.
