Nominate your hero to win a free subscription for kids’ magazine Scoop!

Scoop has teamed up with The Big Issue to give away subscriptions and free magazines to curious kids

This month Scoop is recognising heroes in all guises. Just like how The Big Issue shone a light on our Covid Crusaders helping hold the nation together during lockdown, the star children’s magazine is recognising the heroes who don’t wear capes – and are just as likely to be a next-door neighbour, grandparent or local shopkeeper.

The 29th issue of Scoop was guest edited by Big Issue editor Paul McNamee. The pioneering magazine takes kids to a school for superhero sidekicks, and looks for their help to rescue a pop hero. And it’s packed to the brim with amazing stories of real-life heroes: people and animals who have overcome danger, prejudice and the frontiers of nature and knowledge to make the world a better place.

And they’re gearing up to give away a handful of free subscriptions of the magazine, plus even more free copies of the special Heroes issue. They want kids to nominate the heroes in their life, someone who they’ve seen make a real difference to the people around them or inspired them to do their bit for others.

Each issue of Scoop brings together works of original fiction, articles, poetry, puzzles, comics, games and activities. Scoop explores everything from punk to painting, science to poetry, super-natural phenomena to playwriting, offering kids aged 7+ a way into the world through big ideas.
