When he and his wife Isabel (Alicia Vikander) discover a baby adrift in a boat, they choose to raise it as their own. However, as the years pass, this act of compassion will turn out to have shattering consequences.
Based on ML Stedman’s debut novel and directed by Derek Cianfrance (The Place Beyond the Pines), this tale of love and sacrifice is both stunningly romantic and heartbreakingly tragic.
