See a selection of our Spring Kid’s Cover Competition entries here

We were blown away by the artistic skills of children all over the UK in response to our call for a cover on the theme of Heroes – check out this collection of amazing artwork

Nothing gives everyone at Big Issue a lift more than our annual Kid’s Cover Competition.

This year, with the doom and gloom of the Covid-19 lockdown, we couldn’t wait until Christmas to see all the heart-warming crafty creativity so we launched our first-ever spring edition of the competition.

As ever, the standard was sky high with plenty of varied and inspired designs on the theme of Heroes. It was tough for us and judge, Puffin Books’ Dapo Adeola, to decide on a winner. In the end, we settled on seven-year-old Aria Burn’s eye-catching effort to grace the cover of this week’s magazine.

While at this time we are not able to cover the walls of The Big Issue HQ with new entries – one of our favourite bits of the competition – we are able to bring you a selection of them in the gallery on this page.

Keep an eye out for your entry and if you didn’t enter the competition – or you’re a big kid – take a few minutes to click through the designs. It’ll warm your heart, we promise.
