Trailer of A Street Cat Named Bob movie – first look!

Watch the brand new trailer for film about Big Issue vendor turned bestselling author James Bowen, starring Luke Treadaway and Joanne Froggatt

Bob fans of the world, the wait is finally over! Today we are very proud to share the first trailer for the film version of A Street Cat Named Bob…

The movie tells the ‘tail’ of ex-Big Issue vendor turned bestselling author James Bowen, tracing his story from homelessness, addiction and desperation at rock bottom to his first meeting with his high-fiving companion, ginger tabby cat Bob. It shows their meeting – when Bob was ill and in need of care, and James was lonely and in need of a friend – and follows them as together they turned their lives around.

The films tagline is, “Sometimes it takes nine lives to save one”.

Starring Luke Treadaway as James and Bob as himself, the movie shows them roam the city together, travelling across London by bus and Tube as they became street-busking and Big Issue-selling sensations who tourists from around the globe fell in love with.

James published his first book about their experiences, A Street Cat Named Bob, in 2012 and has now topped bestseller lists, scooped awards and sold millions of copies round the globe, as well as being mobbed by fans at book signing sessions. But James (and Bob!) continue to be great supporters of The Big Issue.

Only last week they delighted passers by when they paid a surprise visit to help out Big Issue vendors selling the magazine in Covent Garden.

The movie A Street Cat Named Bob comes out on November 4
