A one-of-its-kind festival of nighttime events and lates in London’s museums, galleries, historic houses and visual arts venues, Emerge takes place over one weekend on Friday and Saturday, September 27 and 28. An all-star creative cast of DJs, debaters, musicians, poets and performers will take over venues ranging from Tower Bridge to The Old Operating Theatre.

The vision for Emerge, which has been branded one of The Big Issue’s Festivals For Good, is to inspire new generations to fall in love with museums by turning audiences’ expectations of what museums are like and who they are for upside-down, creating new social value for audiences, communities and venues.
As previously announced, The Big Issue has teamed up with Emerge as the festival’s social value partner, and we are working with leading arts development, training and creative regeneration charity Collage Arts to get involved in the festival on a creative level.
Based in the heart of Haringey’s Cultural Quarter, Collage Arts runs programmes aimed at improving employability and creating access to the arts and creative industries for people who have challenges to overcome, including young people who are unemployed, BAME women, care-leavers and people with health problems-among others.
Collage Arts has been supported by Big Issue’s social investment arm, Big Issue Invest (BII), since 2013, and BII has helped it to grow and evolve with a total of three investments. Three of the musical acts which have grown out of Collage Arts, including electronica duo among | bright | lights.
