New Doctor Who Jodie Whittaker poses with this week’s The Big Issue

The Doctor will see us now – Jodie Whittaker, Bradley Walsh and John Barrowman have got this week’s magazine. Have you?

Guess Who? New Doctor Who star Jodie Whittaker has got her hands on this week’s edition of The Big Issue.

The 36-year-old star, who makes her full debut as The Doctor in ‘The Woman Who Fell To Earth’ on Sunday October 7, posed with the magazine and shared the picture with us.

During our exclusive interview with Whittaker for this week’s cover story, she said: “We have got a lovely man where I live. If I ever make it onto the cover, I will get it from him. He is so nice.

“I didn’t know he knew who I was [spoiler alert: he did!]. He is a lovely, positive, very upbeat man.”

Well, it seems Whittaker is true to her word.

Whittaker also posed with back issues of The Big Issue, (above) featuring her predecessors Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant and Peter Capaldi (sorry Matt Smith, we couldn’t find you) during our interview.

She’s now got her hands on her very first Big Issue cover. But Whittaker is not the only Doctor Who star to grab this week’s edition.

At the World Premiere of ‘The Woman Who Fell To Earth’, Bradley Walsh – who plays Graham O’Brien in the new series – grabbed a copy and struck a pose.

And a Tardis veteran was also quick to show his support.

John Barrowman, so loved as the immortal, omnisexual, iconic Captain Jack Harkness in both Doctor Who and Torchwood, picked up his copy in West London this week.

The actor Tweeted that he’d bought his from vendor Frank Thomas at Sloane Square. Optimistic fans have taken this as further confirmation that Barrowman will be back as Captain Jack, alongside Whittaker, at some point in the future.

Here’s hoping. In the meantime, he’s keeping up on events in space and time by reading our exclusive interview with Jodie Whittaker. Why not join them?

  • Doctor Who airs on Sunday 7th October at 6.45pm on BBC One
