Stuff your stockings with gifts under £20 in The Big Issue Shop

Get started on your Christmas shopping with these little wonders

It’s nearly December so we can officially talk about Christmas now, right? We’re here to take the stress out of filling those Christmas stockings with The Big Issue Shop’s collection of gifts with a social echo – all for under £20.

Ditch the tacky aftershave gift sets loitering around shop checkouts trying to lure you in, shop with a social echo instead! For every product purchased from The Big Issue Shop, a person in need is helped here in the UK, or across the world.

This silver purse from Damsel & Daughter is the perfect pressie for the fashion conscious friend. Handmade in Hackney from vegan leather off cuts, proceeds go towards producing feminine care kits for disadvantaged women in Hackney, and distributed through local night shelters; The Manna Society and the Hackney Migrant Centre.

If you want to opt for the traditional Christmas socks, why not do it with a social echo? These speckled socks come from Jollie’s. The “more-than-profit” enterprise is passionate about creating fun ways to support local homeless projects, so for every pair of their bright and cosy combed cotton socks bought, a pair is donated to a homeless charity in your local area!

Complete that festive party outfit with this stylish bow tie in the official ‘Homeless’ tartan, designed by tartan giants Slanj. Profits generated by the Homeless tartan go to helping local homelessness organisations in Scotland to provide support and raise awareness.

And let’s not forget the little ones too, while their stockings might be much smaller they still need filled and nothing says Christmas like dinosaurs! This wooden set includes a T-rex, a Diplodocus, a Stegosaurus, a Saichana, a Triceratops and a Parasaurolophus (all present for the birth of baby Jesus of course). Made from eco friendly wood, each piece is handcrafted in Sri Lanka and directly supports the Lanka Kade Education Foundation, which provides disadvantaged rural schools in the area with books and more to ensure that pupils are better equipped for learning.

Once the Christmas madness is over, you’ll likely want to sit down with a good cuppa. Whether it’s a secret present for yourself, or gifted to a loved one, this fine bone china mug is perfect for a good brew. This fabulous Dogs mug was designed by Margaret Mace. Margaret works alongside ARTHOUSE Unlimited, a collective of artists living with complex epilepsy and learning disabilities. Artists work alongside instructors to create artwork which is developed into designer products.

And of course, wrap it all up with our limited edition artist designed wrapping paper from our friends David Shrigley, Ben Eine, Pure Evil and Nick Smith.
