The human toll of the conflict between Israel and Hamas is growing and becoming more apparent.
At the time of writing, more than 1,300 people in Israel and more than 3,000 people in Gaza have been killed. The UN estimates more than one million Palestinians have been displaced.
The UK government has committed an extra £10 million in humanitarian aid for civilians in Gaza, which it describes as experiencing a “worsening humanitarian situation” with “shortages of key goods and widespread displacement.”
If you want to help, here are some organisations coordinating humanitarian efforts in the region.
Doctors Without Borders
Describing hospitals in Gaza as “overwhelmed”, Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) is getting medicine and equipment to those who need it, as well as supplying surgical teams.
The organisation is funded by donations, with more information at msf.org/donate.
