Dance music fans asked to donate, rave, repeat for the NHS

London-based producers DJs JOBE and Dexter Ford have joined forces as 14 house artists launch ISOFEST to raise funds for the frontline health workers

A group of house music-loving pals have come together to put on an all-day rave to benefit the NHS.

Led by acclaimed London-based producers JOBE and Dexter Ford, ISOFEST will be held today from 11am to 1am with 14 DJs playing back-to-back sets.

After the Covid-19 crisis put an end to the group of friends’ chances to play, listen to and dance to music together, they concocted the plan to bring some music back into their lives while supporting those risking themselves on the NHS frontline.

ISOFEST will be hosted on Twitch and will be linked to a donation page where they hope everyone who tunes in will pay forward the same amount they would spend to get into a club night (£10+) or as much as they can afford. None of the DJs will take payment for their performances and instead the cash raised will go to the Cavell Nurses’ Trust, a charity supporting nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants who are going through personal or financial hardship.

JOBE, originally from Newcastle, said he was “really excited” for the event.

He added: “We hope as many people from across the UK tune in to help support our wonderful NHS staff.”

JOBE commented: “I’m really excited for tomorrow. We hope as many people from across the UK tune in to help support our wonderful NHS staff.”

The Cavell Nurses’ Trust offers everything from essential support like funding repairs for a broken boiler to life-changing efforts like helping families escape domestic abuse.

The Big Issue has been shining a spotlight on artists from every industry doing their bit to support frontline workers during the pandemic – like this group of UK designers whose colourful Leeds-based poster campaign has raised thousands for charity already.
