Emma Barton’s isolation preservation kit

The boxsets, music, exercises and more that are helping Strictly star and EastEnders actress Emma Barton stay happy and healthy while staying at home

Binge-worthy boxsets

The Crown is my go to. I thought I would give myself a laugh with good old British humour and watch Only Fools and Horses from the start.

The soundtrack to my isolation

BBC Sounds app is brilliant. You can listen live to radio and depending on my mood, I’ll pick and choose any of the speech shows. If I want to chill, I’ll choose ‘Mindful Mix‘.

Read all about it

I just finished Graham Norton’s A Keeper which was one of those you don’t want to put down. I have recently thought I’d really like to re-read all of my childhood favourites like the Roald Dahl collection.

Comfort foods

Isn’t it easy to graze and drink wine! I try and be good during the week and treat myself to what I fancy at the weekend.

Staying active

I’m walking my dog and my personal trainer Paul Fletcher PT is doing 2 x 30 minute classes with me through Zoom, not using any equipment, just bodyweight. To mix things up I’m following some of the Strictly pros like Karen Hauer and Oti Mabuse – they’re all doing different types of exercise and dance and it’s really entertaining!
