We’re asking MPs to back our Future Generations Pledge and we need your help to ensure that every candidate running in the December election gets behind it.
New pledgers would be following in the footsteps of Luciana Berger, the former Labour MP and now the Liberal Democrats’ candidate for Finchley and Golders Green.
She became one of the first politicians to throw her weight behind the pledge when we launched it last week.
Berger said: “I believe it is incumbent on us to leave our children with a better world than the one we came into, and as someone who is committed to sustainable solutions to critical issues like the climate crisis and poverty, I wholly support the Future Generations Pledge.”
The pledge comes as Big Issue founder Lord John Bird has been forced to restart his bid to create a Future Generations Act across the UK.
Inspired by the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) 2015, Lord Bird launched his bid for a Future Generations Bill when it was introduced to the House of Lords last month but has been forced to go back to step one after Parliament was dissolved for the election.
