‘COMMON GEOMETRY’
By Fuad
Fuad only quite recently started making artworks at the regular art group run by London homeless charity the 240 Project. Arriving in England from Somalia in 2011, Fuad started painting after watching other untrained artists in activity centres.
“I work from my head, recalling people and places I have seen or imagined. Many things influence my work: traditional African paintings and statues, my childhood, people-watching in coffee shops. I don’t copy, I feel strongly about that – about making the work myself from my own experiences, whatever they might be.”
