Join the Big Issue to help solve the Covid jobs crisis

Do you want to help solve the jobs crisis? Work with people looking for better ways to access jobs and money? Join our launch event with the Big Issue and Nesta on May 13th

What practical solutions will help solve the Covid jobs crisis? What can we do to help people remain in jobs, manage their finances and avoid the devastating consequences of losing their homes during the pandemic?

The Big Issue has launched the Ride out Recession Alliance (RORA) and is now working with Nesta, the innovation agency, as part of its new Rapid Recovery Network, a coalition to provide those impacted by Covid-19 with access to jobs and financial support.

Nesta’s £3 million Rapid Recovery Challenge, funded in partnership with DWP, JPMorgan Chase Foundation and Money and Pensions Service, has identified 14 innovators creating tools, including those that use smart data and open banking technology, to help people access work and manage their money and best meet the needs of at least 1 million people affected by the economic consequences of Covid-19 by 2023.

Six innovator finalists will be selected to scale fast and reach as many people as possible. RORA and Nesta are looking for more organisations to join the network and help spread the word.

If you work with people looking for better ways to access jobs and handle their personal finances, or would like to help support this initiative, join our launch event on May 13th to hear more.

The Big Issue is offering free training and job search help to anyone who needs it with our new RORA Jobs and Training Toolkit. Sign up to receive a free three-month digital subscription to The Big Issue, access to dozens of free or discounted online training courses and the ability to search hundreds of thousands of jobs.
